Debt Tip #3
Plan ahead
If your fixed rate mortgage is coming to an end, don't wait until 4 weeks before it does, get the ball rolling about 10 weeks before.

Worrying news for already stretched consumers and businesses is that the main energy suppliers are forecasting a dramatic increase in prices over the next few months.
On top of the rises in the past year or so, these further rises are likely to feel even worse than 40% if all accounts are to be believed.
Some analysts are forecasting this could be the straw that breaks the camels back when it comes to household debt levels. They may well be right - at DCM we are seeing a huge surge in requests for debt help with enquiries up more than 100% in the last 6 months alone.
It certainly appears that more people are looking to the future, seeing it becoming increasingly darker and thinking that they may as well get their debt problems sorted now rather than 'get stuck in the mad rush' later in the year. Positive thinking in a very negative time.
